Email Engagement Optimization
Email Engagement is the rate with which your emails are opened and read. If a large portion of the emails you send are never read, spam filters question the value of what you are sending. You are accidentally training the spam filter to recognize your email address as one that sends junk email! For this reason, it is important to pay attention to who is reading your emails and who is not.
When you send an email, the status of that email is Sent. When someone opens your email, the status changes to Sent+Read. More information on how we do this is available here.
Automated Engagement Optimization maximizes your email deliverability, while at the time same minimizing the risk of your emails being tossed into the junk email folder. This setting is located at Main:Settings:Preferences:Mail and is called "Engagement Optimization". Enabling this feature allows RealtyJuggler to skip scheduling bulk email and drip sequences to recipients that have an extended history of never opening and reading your emails. For bulk email, a category of Unread is also added to these records so you can review them later.
There are three Engagement Optimization Options:
- OFF - Email Engagement Optimization is not running.
- Auto - (Default) Email Engagement Optimization is only engaged when deliverability issues are detected. Deliverability is determined by looking at Complaints, HardBounces, and OptOuts.
- ON - Email Engagement Optimization is always used, regardless of your deliverability history.
If there are more than 3 Complaints, 20 OptOuts, or 30 HardBounces in the last 365 days, the OFF option is temporarily ignored.
You can review your complaint and opt-out history by going to Main:Settings:Mail:Email Opt-Out.
You can review your deliverability rate by going to Main:Settings:Mail:All Mail and clicking on the Sent tab at the top of the screen. Your deliverability rate will be displayed as a percentage in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Email Engagement is only used when you apply a drip sequence and when you schedule a bulk email. It has no effect on emails that are already scheduled, or sending an individual email.
